Minimum requirements are needed before an adjuster can indwell a mind.
This preparation requires the following steps in this order:
1. The spiritualizing of the mind up to the point where the 7th adjutant can be seated, as it happens naturally in the growing child. The 7th adjutant creates a system in the mind that is then able to be encircuited.
2. Encircuit in Holy Spirit ministry. This brings the Mother system of coordination into action.
3. Personality (spirit pattern) can then identify with the mind. It is an influence from eternity. That personality chose us before time began. It gives our mind an opportunity for wholeness and realitizes the person.
Even the fanciest animal, like a Spornagia, cannot ‘house’ an adjuster
“When mind is thus endowed with the ministry of the Holy Spirit, it possesses the capacity for (consciously or unconsciously) choosing the spiritual presence of the Universal Father—the Thought Adjuster.” 34:5.4
We here now get the Spirit of Truth and so the Adjusters comes automatically.
When the 7th adjutant can begin to engage the mind, it is at that point whereby the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth (spirit of unification), and the Personality can identify with us. The Adjuster registers (on the Divinington) and then appears with you.
“All children on the evolving worlds who have Thought Adjusters, but who before death had not made a choice concerning the Paradise career, are also repersonalized on the finaliter world of the system, where they likewise grow up in the families of the Material Sons and their associates as do those little ones who arrived without Adjusters, but who will subsequently receive the Mystery Monitors after attaining the requisite age of moral choice.” 47:2.4
This requisite age is roughly age 6. So the arrival of these Spirit ministrations is not defined by the Adjuster, the Holy Spirit or the Spirit of Truth, but by the engagement of the 7th adjutant. That is an average age for this to happen.
If this is not conscious, how can you say “moral choice”?
You can’t make a choice without a personality. Or make a moral decision.
How do we think about choice? There are prerequites:
Prerequisites of Adjuster Indwelling
“Though the Adjusters volunteer for service as soon as the personality forecasts have been relayed to Divinington, they are not actually assigned until the human subjects make their first moral personality decision. The first moral choice of the human child is automatically indicated in the seventh mind-adjutant and registers instantly, by way of the local universe Creative Spirit, over the universal mind-gravity circuit of the Conjoint Actor in the presence of the Master Spirit of superuniverse jurisdiction, who forthwith dispatches this intelligence to Divinington. Adjusters reach their human subjects on Urantia, on the average, just prior to the sixth birthday. In the present generation it is running five years, ten months, and four days; that is, on the 2,134th day of terrestrial life.” 108:2.1
“The Adjusters cannot invade the mortal mind until it has been duly prepared by the indwelling ministry of the adjutant mind-spirits and encircuited in the Holy Spirit. (this is why an animal or even spornagia can’t get this) And it requires the co-ordinate function of all seven adjutants to thus qualify the human mind for the reception of an Adjuster. Creature mind must exhibit the worship outreach and indicate wisdom function (6th and 7th adjutant) by exhibiting the ability to choose between the emerging values of good and evil—moral choice.” 108:2.2.
We do not make a choice that brings the adjuster. The personality chooses us. Our lowly, imperfect mind is not going to call a fragment of eternity to our bidding.
That bestowal of the Personality is the choice that the Father makes. He does not relate to us experientially because he is an existential being. The Personality chooses us because we exist.
Prerequisites to synthetically thinking
- You must be able to think analytically.
- Synthetic thinking is associative — thinking both in a unity and individuality mode. Most higher education nowadays is only analytic. Shame…
- We must take delight in cultivating qualities of courageous and independent cosmic thinking.
